In Moran State Park you can enjoy picnicking, camping, swimming, hiking, and nature trails, boat launches, rentals, fishing, and an Environmental Learning Center with a Vacation House. Moran State Park has more than 38 miles of foot trails, many of which were built by the Civilian Conservation Corps in the 1930s. These range in difficulty from a fairly level 2.5-mile walk around Cascade Lake to the more demanding climbs from
Cascade Lake or Mountain Lake to the summit of Mount Constitution. The highest peak in the San Juan Islands, Mount Constitution rises more then 2,000 feet above sea level;. The mountain is entirely contained within Moran State Park. At its summit is a stone tower that was patterned after 12th century watchtowers in the Caucasus Mountains. This tower received extensive historical restoration during 2003-2004.
Parking Fees

A fee of $5/day is required for each vehicle to park anywhere in Moran State Park, except vehicles of registered campers. Alternatively, you can buy a Natural Investment parking permit for $50, which allows parking in all Washington State Parks for a year from the date of purchase. These permits are available at the registration booth or the park office near the South End Campground.

Reservations - Online

You can reserve a campsite at Moran State Park, pay with a credit card, and browse campsite availability maps and park facilities for all Washington State Parks at www.parks.wa.gov. Reservations are available for May 15 through September 15. Reservations made online may be booked only one at a time. Washington State Parks pass holders who receive free camping need to call (888) CAMPOUT or (888) 226-7688. Reservations for group camps and day-use facilities may be made only by phone.

Call (888) CAMPOUT or (88) 226-7688, or access the reservations service through the Washington Telecommunications Relay Service at (800) 833-6388, to reserve campsites, group facilities, and day-use facilities. Phone lines are open every day of the year, 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. PST, except Christmas Day and New Year’s Day and with shortened hours on Christmas Eve and New Years Eve. Reservations may be made nine months in advance but not on the day of arrival. Reservations are confirmed by payment in full. Most people pay by credit card, but if you choose to pay by check/money order, you must reserve at least 21 days prior to arrival date and payment must be received within seven days of your call.
